In the studio or on stage the P-84’s warm, natural and detailed character provides an authentic un-hyped reproduction of a wide variety of sources. The first phantom powered microphone, the KM 84 remains the standard by which all modern SDC FET pencil microphones are judged. Like the KM 84, the P-84 achieves a balanced output through a generously sized transformer, eliminating interference and distortion. The P-84 is true to its inspiration in capsule and circuit design. With the higher quality available in today’s electrical components, we have been able to improve low frequency responsiveness and raise the sound pressure level capacity. The P-84 brings authentic natural warmth and detail to satisfy the demands of the modern digital recording environment.
The P-84 is available in stereo matched pairs as the P-84 SK.
Microphone kit comes as a complete system including: P-84 Microphone in a Wood Box, Omni and Cardioid Capsules with the Extra Capsule in a Wood Box, a Shock Mount and a Hard Mount, all packed in a Flight Case.
