Hey Labfans! Today I’ll be analyzing Cytomic – The Glue
Starting with the official info:
The Glue is an analog modeled compressor plug-in based on Theclassic 80’s British big console buss compressor with some additional features. It uses the same high quality algorithms used in circuit simulation packages but optimised for real time use. It’s quick and easy to use and has an uncluttered interface.
Here are the settings utilized (No oversampling)(side image)

FR
Well flat, right of the bat half the modeling is out
Phase
Well since there is no FR to begin with, no phase is bound to exist either
THD/THD+N
(measured in threshold steps)
This time I made the animation fast, to point out something. Although to the inexperienced eye this might seem a modeling content, and I’m not saying that is not. Indeed there is THD content but what is worth observing is that the behavior is quite static in regard to the harmonics architecture behavior and generaly its interaction to the source tone. There is some movement but its very subtle, along with a low percentage aswell.
DSC
Well here we can also observe that the knee is in between hard and soft
Consensus
Well as far as modeling goes and the standard we use to evaluate this, it must be considered partially modeled.
Personal Quote: For me personally, its even below half due to the THD subtle almost static behavior (and quite minimal in percentage as well) and the absence of noise modeling.
